So, long story (and by story i mean angsty rant) short... things were going well with the new guy. New guy very busy, too busy to see me for nearly three weeks. Not really sure what's going on. Sure, his excuses are the greatest possible, working, doing worhtwhile things with life, looking after dying relative kind of excuses but, ah I dunno. It's the typical do I really want this relationship, suddenly its not really there and I really want it, but then, on reflectin, if he's the kind of person who isn't that fussed then I think probably it's not going to really work out anyway.

Then, randomly tonight I got a call from Joe. The odd thing is that over the last week or two, the two of them have worryingly merged somewhat into one big idea in my mind! Anyway, me and Joe were on very good friendly, not just wanting to get eachther naked, oh I made a new friend in the big city how lovely sort of terms and then, well, he just sort of dissapeared for a few months. Turns out, his new job was somewhat out of town, hence not seeing him, but in fact he got offered a second, even better job which he will be starting in a months time and which will put him back in the centre of town with a rather nicely paid job... as a maanger at the odeon in Liecester Square! Can you say free films and premiers?! I can :p The more amazing thing actually is that he was trying to persuade me to join him in town for some late night, can we see this leading to something else I think we can, drinking but I opted to stay in with tea and an early night. Oh how the tables are turned, haha!

Ooh, this post has gone unexpectedly upbeat, albeit in a slightly shallow and where is my medication way :) Anyway, on the positive side I have been working quite hard recently and that combined with the daily cycle is leaving me, gasp, almost too exhausted to care about men and love sex and all that crap for once. Lets just not talk about £65 toilet seats and people being sectioned.

And more excitingly: I am heading for Narch on the 25th May. I will be dressed as a Pirate. I will then watch some Pirates (Pirates 3 to be precise, at around 4pm). Followed by dancing like a Pirate (in the Waterfront). If you live in Norwich, please help keep me entertained, housed for the weekend! Thank you.

The weather held out so we barbecued. Lots of random people came. Tonnes of food. And the show was fantastic. I can't quite believe the budget Finland blew on the Lordi of the Rings intro and an interlude of... Apocalyptica! I really really want to go to Finland now. Top marks for pulling off a very fun show that was actually both refreshingly earnest and rather stylish. Imagine, if England ever get to host again, what complete crap we would attempt to put on inbetween kill-me-now interludes from Fern and Vernon! Jesus.

But yup, hooray for Finland and Eurovision. I was (once again) drinking for the winners, who this year appeared to be a slightly butch Hiro backed by a deranged troop of military models. Top marks also to the little turkish guy, the magician having his loving potion poured all over him... and The Ukraine. Who would have though that taking a cheap polka ring-tone and adding a buttock-slapping mirrorballed tranny with a star on her head could be the second most popular song in europe!

There was a bit of a sunday morning come down in the form of descovering someone had broken the upstairs toilet seat which I will have to replace at a cost of maybe 20-30 quid and a period of general bitchiness in the house, mostly concerning the fact that the russian girl is a spoilt little hypocrite! But anyway, still a fantastic weekend... thanks to everyone who came!

Meh, I feel like crap. I just watched eps 17 & 18 of Heroes which were awesome (really awesome) and should have done the trick but nah, I just feel a bit rubbish this eve. I seem to be developing some sort of horrible needy-child dependency on human contact of late, and am not getting any! Not sure whats going on with the guy... I think I've picked another one of these work-obsessed, seeing you once a week is perfectly fine types, which sucks. Ever since my last trip to Narch I've been constantly doubting whether I actually want to be in a relationship with him (obviously not a good sign) and then at the same time am annoyed that he's not making the effort. This pisses me off because, before that, I was in that getting bowled over by how unexpectedly brilliant he was mood and so, well, where did it go?! Im not even sure if we are going out, and I think to be honest I havent asked because any answer would be the wrong one!... so im living in (un)blisful ignorance it would seem. Hmm, I think I need to learn to just not worry so much.

I dont think a trip to see Curse of the Golden Flower today helped. Really liked it... but not exactly the most upbeat of films! And Busta Rhymes is behind me, banging that drum with that damned horse's hoof! Only Jax would understand what this means. I miss Jax.

I also finally got Theatre of Tragedy's "Musique" today. It's so fucking brilliant. Maybe even better than the other one. Why am I not in Berlin with Daisy raving it up gothic style to this?! Oh well, just having a bit of an emo "no one understands me" moment I guess. I think I shall spend tomorrow on my own and do my best to blopdy well enjoy it.

So yesterday I decided on the spur of the moment to run to Argos and buy a BBQ. It said "flat-packed" and its only a 15 min walk to my house... why, oh why do I do these things to myself!

Nick, for future refernce: do not ever attempt to carry a 20kg oil barrel barbecue that is in a box nearly the sixe of your own body from argos to your house. Get a taxi! Or home delivery! Otherwise it will take you nearly an hour of constant hand-pain and result in sever your left shoulder agony and horribly bruised thighs!

But it is a sexy barbecue! Photos to come!

I also spent last night having dinner with the spitting image of Jade Goodie (thankfully not as ugly or stupid, actually she was quite loveable) and her eastern european girfriend. Good times.

Sat May 12, 2.5 weeks time, my house, Finsbury Park, London!

The plan is:

  • BBQ if the weather is good.

  • Eurovision all the way up to 11.

  • Whatever else people fancy doing!

If people are up for it, we could catch a show on Sunday, or fit in a game of poker, picnic in a park... the possibilities are endless! Everyone invited, but I need to know who is up for it so I can figure out where to house people.

Jass may be able to join us, and possibly bring some random members of the Norwegian military with him! Em, Jax and friends will be coming, along with a selection of London peeps and flatmates (they are a bit gay, don't you know).

Bring a flag!!!

Last night was awesome. Toby took me (and I took Calle) to Pop Justice Live which is basically a gig/club night to promote good and/or cheesy pop music.

The line up was:
Booty Luv - yes, that booty luv what did Boogie 2nite. And they were really nice and their new single is great. blush.
The Real Heat - like booty luv only more sarf lundan too much slap dirty mouthed sluts. Quite good fun actually.
Bodies Without Organs - Sweedish ultra camp dancy pop all sorts of AWESOME.
Siobhan Donaghy - yup, the ginger one who used to be a sugababe. Quite good.

And finally...a DJ set of Lil Chris vs Peaches Geldof! I kid you not. And amazingly I quite enjoyed the lil chris bit, though we left before Peaches, which I imagine was probably for the best. And the whole thing was a fiver (or free when a sexy man pays for you).

Liz: you would absolutely love BWO, if only for the fact that they appeared to be being fronted by Owen Wilson circa Zoolander, only more camp. Sample lyric:
"We load sixteen tons of hardware
Blazing steel and galvanized
We crash fifteen supersonic tanks
Through the gates of paradise"

And then today I took a two hour lunch break to go test ride and hopefully buy my sexy bike. It turned out to be perfect. Well, all save the fact that, despite me putting down a deposit to secure it last weekend and having already trecked to the shop (in Waterloo) three times, they accidentally sold it yesterday and it was the only one left in the country until the first of July!!!!!!. I was not impressed. And still do not have a bike :(
